Sports Relief

We are joining in with Sports Relief by running a 5000m circuit in the school hall. a £1;00 donation would be appreciated and all proceeds go to Sports Relief

Africa Fundraising

The School Council decided to hold an activity afternoon on Friday 22nd January. It was a huge success.....the children had lots of fun taking part in various activities including a Penalty Shootout and Splat the Rat! The winners of the African Art Competition will be chosen on Friday 29th January so look out for those!

Parking

Can school request that parents do not park on the corner next to the church as John, our school crossing patrol, can not see the oncoming traffic. The Police have also informed us that they WILL issue parking tickets for illegally parked cars. Thankyou.

Spare P.E. Kit

If you have ANY spare shorts, trainers or T-Shirts at home then school would gladly welcome them for our spare P.E. kit box. 

SCHOOL ACHIEVES RIGHTS RESPECTING SCHOOL AWARD

We have recently been assessed for the RRS award and were extremely successful at achieving it. The assessors were thrilled with our children and their knowledge of rights and responsinbilites and how they consider other people less fortunate around the world.

OFSTED Report

The latest Ofsted finds our school 'Good with outstanding features'. 'Personal Development is Outstanding as are pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Pupils have very positive attitudes towards their work and make very positive contributions to the school, local and global communities.'

INVESTORS IN CHILDREN!

The school has recently received Investing in Children membership. Children were interviewed and the school was assessed as involving children well in decision making across the school. We pride ourselves on the way our children become involved in so much and use their skills effectively.

Full International Award

Mrs. Clarkson has recently attended a presentation ceremony in London to receive our Award. This recognises our work in making international links and bringing the world to Hunwick. Children are becoming more knowledgeable and more understanding of different cultures and beliefs because of this. Our links with Kishisha and the work we share with the school have been vital to our success. We are very proud to receive this award.

Intermediate International Award

The school has received the Intermediate International Award for its work with schools abroad and developments in the Global Dimension. Children are learning about the world, Diversity, Human Rights, Global Citizenship and Social Justice. During the summer term we are holding a Global Awareness week where the children can extend their knowledge and learning about the world beyond Hunwick!
